McDonald’s Worldwide Convention
One of the strongest and most recognizable brands in the world, McDonald’s is a prime example of a globally successful business. They are a premiere partner in the Prewards client roster, with a history that goes back to 1972 and Ray Kroc’s “Green and Growing” Manager’s Guide, produced by CEO Donald Baron. The sheer size of the McDonald’s Corporation dictates a need for exacting standards in product quality, turnaround time, and follow-through, for which they often turn to Prewards.
Their Need
The McDonald’s Worldwide Convention, held every two years, is a massive gathering of approximately 15,000 store Owners and Operators from around the world. The range of products needed for the Convention is wide, from registration materials and apparel, to booth giveaways and signage. All of these materials need to be precisely coordinated in their production and shipping to a central distribution center. With no less than 40 major stations on the Convention floor, organization is of prime importance to ensure a smooth-running event.
The Solution
Though Prewards has been involved in the Convention for over a decade, our role was much more of a major one in 2008, with a presence throughout the Convention hall. The most significant contribution was provided in the form of time-saving, which were created and updated as-needed for ease of client reference. Approximately a dozen of these were made for the various corporate contacts that enlisted Prewards’ help, with the most important being a list of around 50 projects (DAVE: I can get this spreadsheet for you if you want to include an image of it) that needed to be specifically tracked for their delivery date and location to make their retrieval at the Hall as easy as possible. In the end, Prewards’ response to McDonald’s needs greatly increased overall efficiency at the Convention and led to us being deemed a “sleep-at-night company” by the Senior Director of Corporate Communications.
